Stephen Katz is a partner and director in of the Corporate Law practice group. He represents both public and privately held companies in all matters of corporate law. Mr. Katz’s background includes mergers, acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, venture capital, securities regulation, formation and organization of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, joint venture agreements, licensing, corporate governance and general commercial agreements.
Mr. Katz has represented a vast array of clients, including nationally recognized and regional investment banks, publicly traded companies, venture capital investors, start up and middle stage technology companies, nationally recognized apparel manufacturers, hedge funds, corporate executives and entrepreneurs. Stephen Katz brings practical legal experience to all phases of the life cycle of a business, having worked as an attorney at a major New York law firm and as a founder, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of a technology company focused on telecommunications, payment systems and financial services.
Mr. Katz is the Co-Chair of the Securities Law Division of the Business Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He has lectured and made numerous presentations on securities law and corporate topics to audiences ranging from other professionals, in house counsel, Fortune 500 companies, investment banks, clients and business owners.
Mr. Katz is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the State of New Jersey. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Katz received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
